Herefordshire 4x4 Response routinely works alongside Category 1 and Category 2 organisations, as well as partner voluntary agencies, as part of the Herefordshire Local Resilience Forum (LRF).
Requesting Assistance
Requests for support must come from an organisation, not directly from members of the public.
If you represent an organisation and require assistance, please email enquiries@herefordshire4x4response.org with:
- Your name and organisation
- The type of support required
- When and where assistance is needed
All requests are assessed and prioritised to ensure support is provided where it is needed most.
Emergency Situations
In urgent or life-threatening situations, members of the public should always contact emergency services first by calling 999 or NHS 111.
Herefordshire 4×4 Response cannot accept emergency calls directly.
Event Support
Herefordshire 4x4 Response provides professional, volunteer-led event support to help organisers manage access, safety, and logistics—particularly where terrain, weather, or rural locations present challenges.
We can support a wide range of events, including community festivals, sporting events, charity fundraisers, and rural gatherings.
Our capabilities include:
- 4×4 transport for staff, stewards, performers, and equipment
- Car parking support, including access control, steward transport, and management of remote or overflow parking areas
- Road block and access point support, working alongside event organisers and partner agencies to help manage road closures, diversions, and controlled access
- Contingency planning for severe weather or difficult ground conditions
- On-site coordination and liaison with event control and partner agencies
- Welfare and logistics support, including access to hard-to-reach areas
All support is delivered by trained, DBS-checked volunteers using capable 4×4 vehicles, with a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and collaboration.

- The support you’re requesting (e.g. transport, parking, road blocks, standby cover)
