At Herefordshire 4×4 Response, we welcome individuals who are passionate about supporting their communities and making a real difference. Whether you own a 4×4 vehicle or not, there are a variety of roles available that match your skills, interests, and availability. We value the diversity of our members and the unique contributions each person brings.

Active Driving Roles
To join Herefordshire 4×4 Response in an operational driving capacity, specific requirements must be met:
Ownership of a full, road-legal 4×4 vehicle.
A driving license with no more than 6 points, held for at least 3 years.
Completion of identity and DBS checks.
Attendance at training sessions prior to operational deployment.
Attend at least 2 fundraising events a year.

Non-Driving Roles
If you don’t have a 4×4 or prefer not to drive, there are still many ways to get involved. Members can contribute their skills in areas such as deployment control, administration, fundraising, event coordination, communications, and community outreach. Every contribution helps us make a meaningful impact.
All members, regardless of role, are required to:

Yes. All members, whether driving or non-driving, will receive training before being involved in operational activities..
Yes. All members must complete identity verification and a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check to ensure the safety of the communities we serve.
We welcome all levels of availability. Whether you can assist occasionally or regularly, there are opportunities that can fit around your schedule. You will need to be able to commit to the annual mandatory training and attending at least 2 events a year in addition to any operational callouts.
Absolutely. Many members contribute through fundraising, community outreach, and event support without participating in operational driving.
