Bromyard Christmas lights switch on - 18th Nov 2023 It seems like a long way off, but “yes”, we do plan that far ahead; as do the good folks of Bromyard, as they have asked us back again this year to assist with road closures and general support to this always excellent event. Our volunteers will be there at 10:30 hrs for an initial briefing, working through until around 20:00 A long day, but always worthwhile ; great fun, and a wonderful atmosphere! Give us a wave when you see us, it’s always good to help out with this one……. Much Marcle Steam Rally - 22nd/23rd July 2023 Our attendance has been requested over this weekend to generally assist and provide a support service to the organisers of this great local event. We hope the weather will be kind to us all, but if it isn’t, we’ll be there to help! Eastnor Castle - 25th June 2023 We shall be at Eastnor Castle in Ledbury for the “Eastnor SOS 2023” with displays from some of our partner service personnel providing our local emergency services. We shall be there explaining what we do, alongside the Police, Mountain Rescue and other emergency services. This is a lovely family friendly event. Come along for a chat, we would love to see you…….

St. Michael’s Hospice Run Hereford 2023 -14th May 2023

Road marshalling and pre-notified road safety closures will be provided to the event by us and our vehicles. Hereford’s premier running event is back, starting from Hereford Livestock Market, and we will be offering our services to help ensure that the the event is as successful and safe as always. The Run will offer participants the opportunity to flourish in the 5K, tackle a 10K or hammer the Half Marathon, all helping St. Michael’s to support the families in our community at a time they need it most. We want to be there ! Eastnor Castle Mud Bath - 7th May 2023 We shall be attending this great day at Eastnor Castle in Ledbury which is the home of the Land Rover test centre, where there is over 60 miles of trails that wind through the deer park and woodland. These man- made trenches and troughs exaggerate the natural terrain to give a year round muddy experience, and maintained with additional water, these mud pits are just as lovely in the Summer as they are in the Winter!

St. Michael’s Hospice Big Spring Walk - 26th Mar 2023

Our attendance for the morning will assist with Responders and their vehicles marshalling the routes, commencing with duties at Hereford Rowing Club, and then being deployed in and around a new choice of walking routes for 2023; for distances of 5.5K, 12.5K or 17.5K , each taking in our beautiful Herefordshire countryside. We shall be deployed to various locations around the routes ensuring the safety of participants. We look forward to seeing you on the day.

Standby and Call-Out - 6th to 15th Mar 2023

Responders were active assisting our user agencies due to the adverse weather of earlier floods followed by snow/freezing temperatures. We were called out for a number of support calls during the Standby status period. Always happy to help !

Standby and Call-Out - 11th to 14th Jan 2023

We were placed on Standby with the NHS and with Hereford Council Emergency Planning due to extensive floods within the County. We were actually called out for transportation requirements of nursing staff to attend to patients as their own vehicles were restricted by the considerable depths of water involved. Our own Risk Assessments ensured that we were able to assist where required and we are pleased that we were able to be of help by utilising alternative routes combined with a degree of responsible wading of both ourselves and our vehicles, having always carefully assessed safe depths. Take care out there in these conditions - we do !

Christmas Tree Collection & Disposal - 7th & 8th Jan 2023

We collected Christmas trees to help raise funds for St Michael's Hospice over this weekend. We are always pleased to offer our support to help this wonderful organisation. Over our allocated couple of days, our team of 12, in 6 vehicles drove a total of 717 miles collecting 410 trees. Many thanks to the lovely staff at Alfresco Grill in Bookers car park, Hereford HR1 1HU for offering their support in keeping us stocked up with food and hot drinks - thank you Lou and the ladies, very much appreciated ! See the Gallery for a few pictures.

Come & Join Us? -Early Jan 2023

We are currently interested in recruiting more Responders to offer assistance. We don’t always require you to actually have a 4x4 yourself, as there is always the opportunity to “double-up” on some of the calls we do, and we can always find you a role as a Controller, or for you to undertake any number of admin or support duties. Click on this link https://www.facebook.com/herefordshire4x4response/ for more details or navigate through to https://membermojo.co.uk/herefordshire4x4response# and click on the link on that page where it says: halfway down the right hand side of the page. (Ignore any questions that you can’t answer!). We look forward to hearing from you.
